Paint Correction
A wash makes a car clean. Detailing makes it right — contamination pulled out of the paint, swirl marks polished out of the clear coat, and an interior taken apart and steam-cleaned rather than wiped over.
The difference
What actually happens in the bay
Every exterior detail follows the same order, because skipping a step just grinds dirt into the paint at the next one.
- Pre-rinse & foam — loose grit lifted off before a mitt ever touches the panel
- Chemical decontamination — iron fallout dissolved, tar and adhesive removed
- Mechanical decon — clay bar or mitt to pull embedded particles out of the clear coat
- Correction — machine polishing, one to three stages depending on how deep the defects run
- Protection — sealant or wax, or a ceramic coating if you are stepping up
